Who are you and what is your role at Optima?
I’m Kyle, Founder and Director at Optima. First and foremost, my role is about making sure we have an environment that breeds success without sacrificing the lives we’re all working so hard to build. Otherwise, what’s the point?
From there I focus on making sure what we do adds value to our customers and on developing the team at all levels to enable them to reach their own career goals.
Why did you start Optima?
I started Optima due to authority issues and delusions of grandeur, mainly. Really though, it felt like the right time in my career to start again from scratch. Having the opportunity to build a brand and culture with values I hold dear was and is really important to me. That’s why I started Optima and why I’m keen to grow it with like-minded people who want to learn and develop as the business does.
What do you like doing outside of work?
Outside of work I’m a keen footballer. That means I try to make up for my lack of ability with effort and enthusiasm.
Aside from that, I spend most of my free time at home with the “boss” (her words), Becky, who’s been kind enough to train me to be an expert flatpack erector, handyman and all round great catch (my words).
