Are you passionate about sustainability and the environment?

For me, if I see one of those videos of a turtle with a plastic bag stuck round its shell, it really hits me.

Now, you won’t be working for The Ocean Cleanup, but you’ll come in as a Quality Engineer working for a business that plays a part in helping the environment; they manufacture parts for the renewables sector.

Renewable Energy reduces water pollution, deforestation and air pollution to name a few, so you’ll be doing your bit for the environment as well as working for a sustainable business that’ll no doubt always have full order books as we look to move away from non-renewable sources.

You’ll be working as part of the Projects team and will be responsible for managing all Quality functions within the business as well as providing technical support to other areas, helping to achieve consistency across products & processes whilst also supporting the implementation of lean systems.

You’ll be accountable for the implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001), providing documentation for tendering and also motivating the team to maintain and develop a customer focused culture whilst educating them on the ‘how’s and why’s’ of Quality.

Longer term, you’ll be facilitating a vital transition for the business as they move towards an industry specific quality process, and will also be given the opportunity to have input in strategic decisions as the business grows and develops.

In an ideal world, you’ll have experience of NDT, welding and paint inspection, (and even more ideally, experience of offshore environments) but that’s by no means essential; if you’re willing to learn, motivated and are a strong team player, the rest can always be taught.

You’d be based at the site in Rochdale and will also get the opportunity to travel to some interesting places (only if you want to though). Salary is around the £45k mark, though there might be a bit of flex for the right person, and it’d increase as your influence in the business does anyway.

There are loads of other perks/benefits to the job, so if you could be interested in finding out more then give me a shout and I’d be happy to share some more info.
