What would you do with £1 million?

As the Operational Excellence Lead for this business in Corby, you might just get the chance to spend some of it. They’ve got a million quid’s worth of CapEx to invest in 2022 and you’ll play a pivotal part in deciding where it’s spent.

With their real and heavy investments (both in you and the site), you’ll have the opportunity to develop yourself whilst also identifying and making improvements around the site as you lead them to a more efficient future.

It’s a pretty hands on role, so you’ll need to be passionate about being actively involved with the team as you coordinate a range of projects to deliver marginal cost savings, develop and manage key KPIs, share best practice and deliver workshops in CI to educate your colleagues on the ‘hows and whys’ to further develop and embed a lean culture. Being honest, if you prefer to sit behind a desk and be a bit more hands off, this probably isn’t the one for you.

You’ll have the chance to really make a difference here, and they’ll actually allow you to as well. Your direct Line Manager is the MD and you’ll have full backing from them along the way, but at the same time, they’re comfortable with you having full autonomy with your role as well. You probably know what it’s like to feel like you’re fighting an uphill battle when trying to introduce changes in a place that people have worked for 30 years, so to help with that, the business has even incentivised certain milestones within their improvement plans to make it more attractive for people to get on board.
